Firefox, the most popular and open source browser on the web, is now updated to version 3.6. It was more than 6 months ago that Firefox 3.5 was released, bringing some cool new features like private browsing, HTML 5 support, location aware browsing and so on. This time Mozilla concentrated more on the much needed performance and stability improvements for Firefox.

Firefox 3.6 is reportedly 20% faster than it’s predecessor, 3.5. Some new features added in this version are customization of look and feel with Personas  (instant themes not requiring browser restart), automatic form completion, a Plugin updater that notifies of outdated plugins upon startup, full screen playing of videos (ogg format), support for poster frames, and a better JavaScript engine for speeding up your browsing.

Mozilla’s personalization gallery lets you choose from more than 30,000 available Personas. Check out the ‘dark myth’ Persona that is ‘worn’ by our Firefox 3.6 in the screenshot below. The best part of the gallery is that you get live preview of the Persona when you hover your mouse over it.
