How To Rip Bluray Into MKV Video
Ripping Blur-ray discs has always been a not so easy task. Also there are not many free tools available out there which let you rip bluray discs easily. Here is BluRip, an open source and free program, that lets you rip Bluray discs and convert them into MKV (Matroska), a container format that supports unlimited number of video, audio, and subtitle tracks.
BluRip supports multiple audio and subtitle tracks, and does automatic demux, auto cropping, subtitle conversion, encoding, and muxing. It depends on several third party tools, including AviSynth, Haali Media Splitter, Eac3to, x264, BDSup2sub, Java, and mkvtoonix for the ripping process. Before you start ripping your favorite Bluray disc, download and install these programs, go to the ‘File paths’ tab in BluRip and assign the paths to each of these tools.

You can select the Bluray disc you want to rip in the Stream selection tab and specify the output directory under the Target folder and filename of the ‘Process’ tab. The tabs of BluRip are mostly self-explanatory, such as the ‘Encoding settings’ , ‘Stream settings’, ‘Profiles’, and ‘Project/Queue’.
Once the ripping is done and you have the final MKV file, you may want to convert it into other formats such as AVI, MP4, PGP, FLV and so on. Check out our pick of best free video converters, rippers, and also best free flv converters and encoders.

BluRip works with Windows 7, Windows Vista, and Windows XP.
