Rename Music Files While Copying From iPod To PC Using iPodMusicGetter
There are several iTunes alternatives for copying music between your iPod and Computer, such as CopyTransManager, YamiPod etc. Here is a another free tool, iPodMusicGetter which lets you easily copy music from your iPod to your PC and also rename the files at the same time.
iPodMusicGetter is standalone EXE file, so you don’t need to install anything. Also being portable, you can carry this small utility anywhere with you on a pen drive. The interface is very simple; you have to browse and select the location of the iPod_control folder (on your iPod) and the output destination folder.
The program then reads the id3 tag and renames all copied files with a readable "artist-trackname.xxx" format. This will definitely save you a lot of time and effort as you don’t have to go through hundreds of music and video files to rename them appropriately.
iPodMusicGetter works with Windows XP/Vista/7
