Launchy: Free Keystroke Launcher

Imagine you want to clean-up your hard disk, then you will have to go through: Start ->  Programs –> Accessories –> Disk Cleanup.
You can do this with a few keystrokes using ‘Launchy‘. Launchy is a free mini utility. Using launchy you can launch applications or any document or folder by just typing a few keystrokes. It displays the matching list of programs/documents from your PC as you start typing in real-time.

By default it only searches programs installed in your PC. However it can be customized to search folders too.

Once Launchy has been started, it hides in the background. You can bring it forward by holding the alt key and tapping the space key. The same key combo will make Launchy disappear into the background. A cool little software worth trying.

The only drawback is that it is a bit resource intesive consuming more than 10MB of memory while running. SkyLight is another application launcher which is small and light on system resources. It’s executable file is less than 1 MB large.
