Launchy has finally come to Mac OSX. Now Mac users can enjoy this free and open source application launcher, which was earlier available only for Windows and Linux. The latest Beta version, Launch 2.5 Beta 2 has added support for Mac OSX, along with some bug fixes and performance improvements.

When it comes to user interface and other features, things have not changed much in this Beta. Launchy has become an indispensable application for Windows XP and Vista users, who were not fortunate to have Windows 7’s powerful start menu at their disposal. Even though there are many free and user-friendly application launchers such as Rocket Dock, Radian, Object Dock, CoolKeys, Google’s desktop search, Skylight and so on, Launchy due to it’s less memory foot print and fast operation found many users favoring it above the rest.
