Download Firefox 4 Official Beta

An official version of Firefox 4 Beta is now made available for download from the Mozilla website. Firefox 4 Beta comes with some minor UI enhancements and support for the next generation web standards including WebM, HD video, HTML 5 (also supported by the recently updated Safari 5), CSS3, and so on.

The first thing you would notice in Firefox Beta 4 is the top tabs feature, which makes Firefox look similar to Google Chrome. Windows 7 users will quickly notice that they can now view thumbnails of open tabs in Firefox, in the Windows 7 superbar.

Other new features include an updated add-ons manager (once again similar to Chrome), switch to tab, and the MS Office style Firefox button. In order to view the Firefox Button, simply hide the Menu Bar (uncheck Menu Bar from View –> Toolbars).

Mozilla promises more advanced features such as performance optimizations, new privacy controls, synchronizing of settings, passwords, bookmarks, history across multiple devices, and OSX, Linux themes in a future release.
