Wikipedia is the the most popular Encyclopedia on the Internet. Every one of us has at some point or other turned to Wikipedia for help in finding information. Sometimes you may want to have offline access to the articles so that you can read them at your own leisure in an airport lounge. Okawix is a free software which lets you download Wikipedia articles and save them to your hard disk.

Okawix lets you search for articles and choose to download the article in a language of your choice. Searching is made easy with all related articles shown in the left side panel and the selected article in the browser window. By selecting the desired language(s) you can reduce the download size of the article. With Okawix, you can not only download articles from Wikipedia but also from any of the other Wiki projects like Wikibooks, Wikinews, Wikimedia, Wikisource, Wiktionary, Wikiquote etc.

Okawix informs you of the download size of the document before it starts the download. You can also choose to include or exclude images from the articles. However you cannot choose to exclude a part of the article; once selected, the whole article is downloaded by Okawix. After the articles are saved on your computer, you can conveniently browse and print them from it’s interface. With Okawix, you can have all of your favorite Wikipedia right on your PC; only the size of your hard disk is the limitation.
