Change The Default Mailto Client In Windows To Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail Or AOL With GmailDefaultMaker
Tired of having all mailto: links open up in Outlook Express? Well, if you are a Firefox user, there is a way to change the default mailto: application to either Gmail or Yahoo from Tools –> Options –> Applications. You can also add a mailto application such as Hotmail or Livemail in Firefox if you want to.
However you find email links in many places other than your regular browsing in Firefox, such as applications, documents, etc. In such cases, GmailDefaultMaker, a free program, lets you change the default mailto client in your Windows PC to Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail or AOL.
Initially GmailDefaultMaker worked only for Gmail and hence the name. The added support for other mail services came later. GmailDefaultMaker is a install-once-and-forget program. There are no background processes running, no resources used up.
Simply choose the installation language, select one of the available mail clients, and install the app. If you want to change the mailto client later, re-run the setup file.

Works with Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP.
