Get Aero Snap, Aero Shake In Windows Vista, XP With Aqua Snap
Windows 7 has some cool Aero features, including Aero Shake which gives you a clutter free desktop with a simple shake, and Aero Snap which lets you dock windows to one half of your screen. Want to get these Aero effects on your Windows Vista or Windows XP? Or if you are already a Windows 7 user, would you wish to extend the Aero functionality?
AquaSnap is a free Windows tweaker, which gives Aero Snap, Aero Shake, and many other productivity boosting UI enhancements on Windows 7, Vista, and XP. Download and install the program (link at bottom) to start arranging windows on your desktop, even in case of multiple monitors. Double click on the program icon in the system tray to open it.

Windows 7 Aero Snap lets you snap windows to fit one half of screen, so that you can arrange two windows side by side. AquaSnap, on the other hand, takes this idea to the next level, letting you snap windows to one half or one fourth of your screen, both horizontally and vertically.
Go to the AquaSnap tab of the program and select ‘AeroSnap’ in the Snapping mode section. Advanced users, try your hand at AquaSnap (simple) and AquaSnap (advanced) modes for better docking.

In Windows 7, when you shake a window a couple of times, all other inactive windows are automatically minimized. Now you can get Aero Shake in Vista or XP with Aqua Snap’s Aero Shake feature. In the AquaShake tab of AquaSnap select the radio button titled ‘AeroShake’ in ‘Shaking mode’ section.
By default AquaShake is selected, which allows you to shake a window to have it always on top.

AquaStretch lets you get the Windows 7 docking feature, that lets you maximize a window vertically by dragging the edge of the window to the top or bottom border of the screen and dock a window to the top or bottom borders of the screen by double clicking on it’s edges. AquaGlass feature makes your windows transparent when you move them around. You can change the transparency to your liking.

You must be now wondering, with so many cool features this sure must be a resource hogging application. Yes, we have seen so many such software which give us great features, but consume so much of our PC’s resources that we are bound to get rid of them . Thankfully, AquaSnap is not one of them. It takes up around 1.5 MB of memory.

Disable Aero
For those who are not such big fans of Aero, you can disable Aero Shake, Aero Snap, Aero Stretch using this program by selecting the ‘Disabled’ radio button in the corresponding tab. If you don’t want to use any application, then here is a small tip on how to disable Aero in Windows 7.
